Resources: Worksheets and Helpful Links
Each lesson has accompanying worksheets, instruction handouts, lesson plans, and helpful links to learn more, all of which can be found on this page. Resources are organized by lesson topic, and are presented in the same order on the "Lessons" tab. Here is a breakdown of each resource:
-
Activity Worksheet: This document provides a bit of written background on the topic, as well as questions and prompts to encourage further learning. These can serve as a guide for the students' learning, and as an assessment for the teachers' to follow the quality of learning.
-
Activity instructions: Here is where you will find written instructions (with pictures) to clarify the activity being presented in a lesson video. Challenges for further learning are sprinkled throughout.
-
Lesson plans: The plan included with each lesson is geared towards South Carolina teachers and students in that it highlights SC Science Education Standards for specifically grades 5-8. However, these also include lesson objectives, safety tips, answers to the worksheet questions, and ideas to explore the topic further.
-
Helpful links/attachments: This section is full of web links, videos, and handouts to learn more about the concept being covered in the lesson and to provide more information on the environmentally conscious lifestyle action introduced. Explore these to further understand the topics discussed, and arm yourself with knowledge to also be an Environmental Warrior! Some of the information provided here focuses on students and families living in South Carolina, but there is a lot of good information that can be applied anywhere. Please highlight, copy, and paste the links into your search bar in order to access each site.
Also, throughout the lessons you might've noticed highlighted words at the bottom of the video screen. These are vocabulary words that are all defined in the Glossary. You'll find a list of any words highlighted in a lesson and extra words that I thought you might need to better understand the content. Click on the turtle to access the Glossary and keep exploring!
